Cable Length Limits at 4K 60Hz and Lower Resolutions

At 4K 60Hz the switch accepts input cables up to 3 metres and output cables up to 5 metres using HDMI 2.0 standard cables. For 4K 30Hz and lower resolutions the input limit extends to 8 metres and the output limit to 8 metres with AWG26 cables. Longer runs beyond these figures are not supported by the specification.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 7-port model or a smaller switch for my setup?

The 7x1 model handles seven sources like PS4, PC, DVD players and set-top boxes to one screen; choose it only if you need that many inputs.

What does 4K 60Hz actually deliver on my TV?

It passes 4K at 60 Hz with HDR and 24/30/36-bit deep colour, provided you use HDMI 2.0 cables no longer than 3 metres.

How does HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.2 limit what I can watch?

HDMI 2.0b caps video at 6 Gbps and 600 MHz TMDS clock, so 4K 60Hz is the ceiling; HDCP 2.2 allows protected 4K streams but blocks older non-compliant sources.
