Connects one serial host to eight devices or eight hosts to one device over DB9 ports with zero-delay hardware switching up to 30 metres
This splitter connects one serial male input to eight DB9 female outputs, letting a single host control up to eight serial devices. It uses full hardware logic so any baud rate and protocol format are handled without software overhead. The AU-plug power adapter keeps the unit running reliably in Australian power environments. Ideal for administrators managing multiple console servers, network gear or industrial equipment from one workstation.
Replacing a basic null-modem cable or a one-to-one USB-to-serial dongle removes the need to physically reconnect cables when switching between devices. The jump is worth it when daily workflows require simultaneous monitoring or configuration of several routers, switches, PLCs or UPS units. Cascaded units extend the maximum output transmission distance to 30 metres, covering larger rack rows without signal degradation.
The eight female ports provide immediate access to eight independent serial consoles, each operating at its native speed because the circuitry imposes no baud-rate ceiling. Bandwidth headroom is effectively unlimited for standard RS232 traffic, so logging, firmware uploads and interactive CLI sessions run without queuing. The limit appears only when more than eight endpoints must be reached from one host; at that point a second splitter or a higher-port-count matrix becomes necessary.

The unit needs an AU power adapter for operation and provides one DB9 male input with eight DB9 female outputs for serial device connections.
Connect the host to the single DB9 male input, attach up to eight devices to the DB9 female ports, then plug in the AU power adapter; the step often missed is powering the unit before establishing data links.
The DB9 connectors and AU power adapter are the primary wear items; inspect cables for bent pins and replace the adapter if voltage drifts beyond the splitter's input tolerance.
