HDMI 1.4 to Component Scaler

This YINGHUA converter box accepts HDMI 1.4 input up to 1080p and scales it to analog YPbPr, RGB 5RCA or VGA output. It includes an independent audio path delivering stereo RCA and Toslink SPDIF signals even when the display is powered off. The unit ships with a US-plug power adapter and is aimed at users connecting legacy monitors or capture gear to modern HDMI sources.

Passive thermal design

The enclosure relies on natural convection without fans, so operation is silent and power draw stays low during normal use. A red LED indicates when the internal scaler is active and the 165 MHz bandwidth limit per channel is respected. No external cooling or additional power budget is required beyond the supplied adapter.

Replaces direct HDMI-to-analog cables

Buyers moving from simple passive cables gain on-screen display control for input and output resolutions plus up- and down-scaling between 720p and 1080p. The jump is worth it when a display or recorder only accepts component, RGB or VGA and the source cannot be forced to those timings natively.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the scaler and what step is often missed?

Connect the included power adapter first; the red indicator LED must light before you attach the HDMI source and the component or VGA display.

What component will need replacement over time?

The external US-plug power adapter is the only wear item; the converter itself has no user-serviceable parts.

What bandwidth limit appears first during sustained 1080p use?

The HDMI input is capped at 165 MHz or 1.65 Gbps per channel (6.75 Gbps total), so extended high-motion 1080p streams hit that ceiling first.
