B-Key M.2 NGFF to 2.5" SATA Adapter
This adapter converts a B-key M.2 NGFF solid-state drive into a standard 2.5-inch SATA form factor. It accepts drive lengths of 30, 42, 60 and 80 millimetres. The card uses a 7+15 22-pin connector and requires no extra power or drivers. It is suited for upgrading Intel ultrabooks or desktop systems that only have 2.5-inch SATA bays.
Fits B-key SATA drives; not for M-key or PCIe SSDs
The board works with B-key M.2 modules that communicate over the SATA protocol. It supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, Linux and Mac OS 10. Builders who need to install an M-key module or a drive that uses the PCIe interface should look at a different adapter. Hot-plug and plug-and-play operation simplify drive swaps.
Key specification: B-key M.2 NGFF SATA interface
The single decisive detail is the B-key M.2 NGFF SATA interface. Only drives with that exact keying and protocol will function on this card. The adapter accommodates 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. Verify the drive key and protocol before purchase.

Will this work with an older laptop that only has a 2.5" SATA bay?
Yes, the adapter converts a B-key M.2 NGFF drive to fit a standard 2.5" SATA bay, so the older system can use the newer drive.
