SD Card Reader Module PMR79 for PowerEdge Servers

The YINGHUA PMR79 is an SD card reader module designed for Dell PowerEdge R330, R430, R530, R630 and R730 servers. It provides a front-accessible slot for reading and writing SD media on these specific rack-mount platforms. System administrators handling firmware updates or configuration backups will find it a direct fit for the listed models. Buyers with other server generations or non-PowerEdge hardware cannot use this module.

Installation fits the designated front-panel bay

The module slides into the dedicated SD reader bay on compatible PowerEdge units and connects to the internal header without extra cabling. No driver installation is typically required as the server BIOS recognises the device at POST. The only common issue is attempting to install it in a server not listed above, where the bay or header is absent or keyed differently.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the PMR79 SD card reader is recognised by the PowerEdge R630 after installation?

The module appears in the iDRAC hardware inventory and the BIOS boot-order list once the server completes POST.

Does the PMR79 package include the mounting bracket and SD cards, or must they be purchased separately?

Only the reader module is supplied; the server-specific bracket and any SD media are sold separately.
