This kit contains a paired transmitter and receiver that extend USB 2.0 signals up to 100 metres over CAT6 cable or 20 kilometres over single-mode fibre. It supports low-speed, full-speed and high-speed USB devices such as webcams and cameras. The units require no configuration and ship with an EU power plug.

Transmission Distance and Media

The single specification that decides fit is the maximum reach: 100 metres on CAT6 or 20 kilometres on FC fibre. Both media use IEEE-568B wiring and carry USB 2.0 data rates while also providing a low-speed duplex channel for remote host power control.

Installers Needing Long USB Runs

Suits installers who must place USB peripherals far from the host PC in industrial, medical or studio settings. Not suited for users who need USB 3.x throughput, multi-computer KVM switching, or desktop-length cables only.
