Direct thermal desktop printer

The Zebra ZD421 is a direct thermal desktop printer built for shipping labels, receipts, tags and wrist bands in retail, logistics and healthcare environments. It connects through wired USB and Ethernet for integration into existing point-of-sale or warehouse management systems. The unit ships new with a tag cutter already installed for immediate deployment.

300 dpi print resolution

Print quality is fixed at 300 dpi, which determines whether barcodes, graphics and small text meet scanning or compliance requirements for the intended application. Media rolls are loaded directly without a ribbon, simplifying supply management for direct thermal workflows. Maximum print speed reaches 4 inches per second at this resolution.

Energy Star approved operation

The printer carries Energy Star certification, indicating lower electricity consumption during typical label and receipt runs. Direct thermal technology eliminates the ribbon mechanism, reducing moving parts that generate noise and heat in normal use. A 6 kg chassis keeps the device stable on a desktop or counter while printing.
