40 W 84 LED video light for creators

The ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 SE Combo is a 40 W bi-colour video light built around 84 lensed LEDs. It produces 17100 lux output for clean, even illumination in backlit or low-light scenes. Weighing 250 g, it suits solo shooters, vloggers and run-and-gun video work where a pocket-sized constant source is needed.

Cold-shoe mount and USB power for quick setup

The unit slides onto a camera cold shoe and draws power over USB, so there is no separate adapter to carry. A hard-shell diffuser snaps on without tools to soften the beam. The only common friction point is ensuring the USB source can sustain the 40 W draw; under-powered banks will throttle brightness or cause the light to shut down.

17100 lux at full power with independent dials

Two dedicated dials adjust colour temperature and brightness separately, giving precise control without menu diving. At maximum output the light handles key-light duties for close-up interviews and product shots. Beyond a metre the lux drops off, so it is not a substitute for larger fixtures when lighting groups or wide scenes.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 40 W light is delivering its rated 17100 lux after turning it on?

Point the 84 LED panel at a subject one metre away and verify the clean, even circle of light appears; the independent colour-temperature and brightness dials should respond instantly.

What comes in the combo box and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the M40 SE video light and a hard-shell diffuser; power is supplied via USB so you will need a compatible USB power source or power bank.

Which version should I choose if I need the 250 g portable kit with diffuser included?

Select the White M40 SE Combo (part 111PL) — it bundles the 40 W light and hard-shell diffuser in a single package.
