Solid Aluminum Body with Transparent Finish

The Zoro Select 48JP99 is a rectangular padlock built for all-weather security. Its aluminum body resists corrosion while the transparent coating shows the internal 5-pin mechanism. Each lock is keyed different so every unit operates on its own unique key.

Steel Shackle Fits Standard Hasp Openings

A 9/32 inch diameter steel shackle with 1 inch clearance and 13/16 inch width slides through common gate, locker and chain-link hasps. The Schlage keyway accepts standard Schlage blanks for local duplication. No control key registration is needed and the core is not interchangeable.

Weather-Resistant Construction Holds Under Exposure

The aluminum body and steel shackle are rated for continuous outdoor use without rust. Five pins provide high-security pick resistance during prolonged attack attempts. The lock cannot be rekeyed so a lost key requires full replacement.

Questions about this item

How long will the 5-pin cylinder resist picking before it becomes the limiting factor?

The 5-pin cylinder provides high-security resistance; the hardened-steel shackle is the first component to yield under sustained attack.

Does the aluminium body heat up or make noise when left locked outdoors all day?

The aluminium body stays cool and silent in all weather; only the steel shackle conducts heat.

Which key profile must I already have to operate this padlock?

It uses a Schlage keyway, so a Schlage-compatible key is required.
