Hex Nut Grade 8 Steel Zinc Yellow

The Zoro Select hex nut is a Grade 8 steel fastener with a zinc yellow finish. It suits high-strength bolting in automotive, industrial and structural assemblies where Grade 8 clamping force is specified.

Compatibility Thread Size And Standards

Verify the mating bolt is a 1"-8 right-hand thread and that the joint design calls for Grade 8 strength per SAE J995. Confirm the 1 15/32 in hex width fits the available wrench clearance and that the 55/64 in height clears adjacent components.

Sustained Load Clamping Integrity

The Grade 8 heat-treated steel maintains clamp load under prolonged tension and vibration better than lower-grade nuts. The zinc yellow coating provides corrosion resistance during extended service in harsh environments.

Questions about this item

Does the pack contain only the Grade 8 hex nuts or are washers and bolts included?

The small pack supplies the Grade 8 zinc-yellow hex nuts only; washers and bolts must be purchased separately.

When should I choose the 1"-8 thread size instead of a finer or coarser pitch?

Choose the 1"-8 coarse thread when mating with standard UNC bolts or tapped holes in structural steel assemblies.

How does the 55/64 in hex height affect installation in a real joint?

The 55/64 in height provides full thread engagement for Grade 8 strength while fitting standard 1 15/32 in wrenches.
