Product identity

Zoro Select M51500.050.0040 carriage bolts are metric M5 x 0.80 fasteners supplied in a 100-piece pack. They suit maintenance, fabrication and assembly tasks that require a square-neck bolt for wood or metal joints.

Build and mounting

Each bolt is made from 18-8 stainless steel to DIN 603 with a plain finish. The round head measures 12.45 to 13.55 mm across and 3.3 mm high, while the square neck is 5.48 mm wide and 4.10 mm high to resist rotation during tightening.

Performance in use

The A2 grade material provides corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor exposure. Tensile strength is rated at 101,500 psi, giving reliable clamping force for structural connections under normal service loads.

Questions about this item

Does the M5 x 0.80 thread follow DIN 603 dimensions?

Yes, the bolt is manufactured to DIN 603 with a 40 mm length and M5 x 0.80 coarse metric thread.

What square-neck dimensions must the mounting hole match?

The square neck is 5.48 mm wide and 4.10 mm high, so the hole must accommodate those exact dimensions to prevent rotation.

How do I install these carriage bolts without the square neck spinning?

Drive the 5.48 mm square neck into a matching square hole; the 12.45 to 13.55 mm round head and 3.3 mm head height then sit flush while the neck locks against rotation.
