Pro Le Blanc 7-inch Chef's Knife

The ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS Pro Le Blanc 7-inch Chef's Knife is manufactured in Germany for all kitchen tasks. Its medium-sized handle and a blade profile 9% smaller than the original Pro suit smaller hands. The lighter weight adds nimbleness and comfort during extended prep work.

Curved bolster for pinch grip

A unique curved bolster acts as an extension of the hand to support the professional pinch grip. This design places thumb and index finger on the blade for safe cutting and reduced fatigue. The full blade length remains usable and can be sharpened from bolster to tip.

Dual-profile blade geometry

The blade features a broad front curve for Western rocking cuts and a straight back for Asian chopping motions. This combination allows one knife to handle both cutting styles effectively. The 24% weight reduction over the original Pro improves control during repetitive slicing.

Questions about this item

How do I hold this knife to use the pinch grip correctly?

Place thumb and index finger on the blade side of the curved bolster; the bolster is shaped to support that grip and reduce fatigue during extended prep.

What sharpening routine keeps the full edge usable?

The blade can be sharpened from bolster to tip, so use a whetstone or honing steel along the entire length to maintain the rocking and chopping geometry.

When does the lighter build become a drawback during heavy use?

At 24% less weight than the original Pro, the knife may lack momentum for dense root vegetables or prolonged butchery, requiring more user force.
