2.1×5.5 mm DC barrel connectors

This set provides two male and two female 12 V barrel connectors with a 2.1 mm centre pin and 5.5 mm outer diameter. They suit installers wiring CCTV cameras, LED strips or similar low-voltage DC devices. The screw terminals accept 16-26 AWG wire without soldering or crimping.

Screw-terminal wiring for quick builds

Each connector uses a tight screw-on terminal so wires clamp directly without tape, splicing or special tools. The double-layer injection-moulded housing insulates the joint and maintains polarity. Installation typically takes a few seconds per connection.

Rated for 5 A across 1-24 V supplies

The connectors handle up to 5 A continuous current from 1 V to 24 V DC, covering 5 V, 12 V and 24 V power supplies. They are not suited for loads exceeding 5 A or for voltages outside the 1-24 V range.

Questions about this item

How much current can the 2.1x5.5 mm barrel connector handle continuously?

The connector is rated for a maximum of 5 A continuous current across the 1 V to 24 V range with no heat buildup.

Does the adapter generate noticeable heat or noise when powering a 12 V LED strip all day?

The design specifies no heat at up to 5 A and uses a double-layer injection-moulded body, so it runs silently and stays cool during continuous operation.

What wire gauge must I already have to use the screw terminals without soldering or crimping?

The terminals accept 16 to 26 AWG solid or stranded wire, tightened by screw in roughly 3 to 10 seconds per connection.
