3M 1120 Conductive Tape 250 pack

This conductive electrical tape uses an aluminium foil backing with a single-sided acrylic adhesive. It comes in a pack of 250 pre-cut pieces, each measuring 1/2 inch in width. The tape carries a 600 V voltage rating and provides 69 dB of shielding effectiveness. A liner is included for easy handling.

Suited for EMI shielding and grounding tasks

The tape performs between -40 and 265 degrees Fahrenheit, making it suitable for a wide range of electrical environments. It is not intended for buyers who need a non-conductive insulating tape or a product without a foil backing. Users requiring a different width or a larger roll format should look at alternative options.

Pre-cut pieces simplify application

The pre-cut format and included liner allow quick placement without measuring or cutting. The single-sided adhesive bonds to clean metal surfaces for reliable conductivity. Contamination on the bonding area can reduce shielding performance and adhesion quality. Ensure the surface is free of oils and debris before applying each piece.

Questions about this item

What surface temperature range must the application stay within for the 3M 1120 tape to maintain adhesion and conductivity?

The tape is rated for continuous performance from -40 degrees F up to 265 degrees F.

Can the 1/2 inch wide rolls be applied directly over existing wire insulation rated for 600 volts without additional preparation?

Yes, the acrylic adhesive bonds to clean insulation and the tape carries the same 600 V rating.

How can I verify the electromagnetic shielding is effective after wrapping a cable with the 3M 1120 foil tape?

Measure attenuation with a spectrum analyser; the tape provides 69 dB shielding effectiveness when properly overlapped.
