What These Scissors Are

The 3M 1428 is a straight-handled multipurpose scissor with stainless steel blades and a comfort grip. It is built for everyday cutting of paper, photos and craft materials in home, school or office settings.

Right-Handed Or Left-Handed Users

The straight handle works for both right-handed and left-handed users. Crafters who need specialised shapes such as pinking or serrated edges should look at dedicated craft scissors instead.

3-3/8 Inch Cut Length

The blade delivers a 3-3/8 inch cutting span per stroke. This determines how much material you can cut in one motion and whether the tool matches the scale of your projects.

Questions about this item

How much hand fatigue should I expect when using the 8 inch 1428 scissors for long crafting sessions?

The straight handle fits both left and right hands, and the comfort grip reduces strain during extended cutting of paper, photos or craft materials.

Do I need a specific cutting surface or mat for the stainless steel blades to work properly?

No special surface is required; the corrosion-resistant blades cut cleanly on standard desks, tables or craft mats.

Will the pointed tips of the 1428 snag on delicate fabrics or thin paper that I already use?

The pointed blades are designed for precision on paper and photos; they glide through thin stock without catching when used with a smooth motion.
