Small Adhesive Hooks for Light Organisation

3M Command Small Hooks model 17002 are reusable plastic hooks with adhesive strips for damage-free mounting on smooth surfaces. The pack contains two white hooks and four adhesive strips for immediate use or later repositioning. Each hook measures 6.75 inches wide by 1.00 inch deep by 3.88 inches high and weighs .03 lb. They suit renters, students or homeowners who need temporary hanging points without tools or wall damage.

Best for Temporary Light Loads on Smooth Walls

These hooks work well for keys, lightweight decorations, bathroom accessories or office supplies where a clean removal is required. They are not suited for heavy items, textured or porous surfaces, outdoor exposure or permanent structural mounting. Buyers who need higher weight capacity, mechanical fasteners or fixtures for rough plaster should look at alternative solutions.

Adhesive Bond Type Determines Surface Compatibility

The Command adhesive bond releases cleanly from smooth painted drywall, glass, metal and tile without residue when removed correctly. Performance depends on surface preparation and following the tab-pull removal method. If the target surface is uneven, dusty or coated with low-VOC paint, the bond may fail or leave marks.

Questions about this item

What size mounting surface does each small hook need?

Each hook base measures 7/8 inch wide by 2-3/8 inches high by 5/8 inch deep, so the wall area must accommodate that footprint.

How do I apply the adhesive strips, and what step is often missed?

Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol, let it dry, press the strip firmly onto the wall, then press the hook onto the strip; waiting the full recommended bonding time before hanging anything is the step most people skip.

What do I need to buy to reuse a hook after removal?

Purchase the correct replacement Command adhesive strips; the original four strips are single-use and cannot be reapplied once removed.
