General-purpose masking tape

This Scotch 234-3/4 masking tape is built for everyday tasks in workshops, offices and homes. The crepe paper backing responds to fingertip pressure for quick application and removes cleanly without residue. It suits painters, packers and anyone needing a reliable temporary hold.

Adhesion in wet or dry conditions

The adhesive maintains its grip whether the surface is damp or dry, so the tape stays in place during humid weather or light moisture exposure. Removal remains easy when the job is finished, leaving surfaces clean and undamaged.

60 yard roll on a 3 inch core

Each roll delivers 60 yards of tan tape wound on a standard 3 inch core, compatible with common dispensers. Buyers who need a different width, length or core size should select another product.

Questions about this item

How do I apply the 3/4" wide 234 masking tape so it holds on textured surfaces?

Press the crepe paper backing firmly with your fingertips along the full 3/4" width; the adhesive is pressure-sensitive and needs that contact to grip uneven areas before the tape is stressed.

When will the 60-yard roll of 23434 tape need replacing in a busy workshop?

Replace the roll once the tan crepe paper tears instead of unrolling cleanly or when the adhesive no longer seals after fingertip pressure, which signals the coating has been depleted.

What is the first sign the 234 masking tape is losing grip during a long paint job?

Edges begin to lift or bleed paint while the surface is still wet, showing the adhesive can no longer hold firm under sustained moisture and tension.
