Packaging Tape 1.88" x 54.6 yd

This Scotch 3500-6 packaging tape comes in a six-pack of clear rolls on 3-inch cores. It is designed for general box sealing and parcel preparation in office, warehouse or home shipping environments. The smooth, easy unwind characteristic helps speed up repetitive taping tasks. Buyers needing wider tape or coloured options for coding will not find those here.

Practical limits of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape

The 1.88-inch width covers standard carton seams but leaves narrow gaps on extra-wide boxes unless multiple strips are applied. Adhesion relies on surface contact, so dusty, damp or heavily recycled corrugate may reduce bond strength. The 54.6-yard roll length suits moderate volume; very high-throughput lines will require frequent roll changes. Extreme cold or heat can affect tack and backing flexibility.

Replaces worn rolls or upgrades from thinner

Switching from lighter gauge films reduces splitting and re-taping waste on regular shipments. The jump is worth it when packers notice frequent tape breaks or poor seal integrity on filled cartons. Users who only seal occasional light envelopes may not see a cost benefit over basic alternatives. Heavy-duty strapping or reinforced tape remains necessary for pallet loads.
