3M 420 Lead Foil Tape 1/2 in x 5 yd

Purpose-Built Shielding Tape

3M 420 Lead Foil Tape is a continuous roll designed for assembly and manufacturing tasks that require metal-backed shielding. It suits technicians needing a thin, conformable barrier for cable wrapping, splicing or masking in controlled environments. The rubber adhesive bonds to metal and painted surfaces indoors or outdoors.

Temperature-Rated Rubber Adhesive

The rubber adhesive maintains tack across a -60 to 225 degrees Fahrenheit range, so the tape stays secure through thermal cycling without residue transfer. Lead foil backing provides electrical conductivity and radiation attenuation that plastic tapes cannot match. The dark silver finish blends with industrial hardware.

Hand-Applied Continuous Roll

The half-inch by five-yard roll unspools straight from the box and tears cleanly by hand for quick cut-to-length work. No liner removal or heat activation is required. Users should wear gloves to limit lead exposure and avoid stretching the foil beyond its elastic limit, which can cause tearing.
