468MP transfer tape 6 in x 20 yd

This 3M adhesive transfer tape comes in a continuous roll measuring 6 inches wide by 20 yards long. It is designed for general-purpose bonding in assembly, manufacturing, automotive, aviation, construction, electronics and maintenance applications. The clear film suits indoor and outdoor use across a wide temperature range.

Continuous roll for production bonding

The roll format feeds cleanly into dispensers or automated equipment, keeping the adhesive free of liners and waste. It bonds metals, plastics and painted surfaces without the bulk of double-coated tapes, freeing space in tight assemblies and reducing handling steps on the line.

400 °F maximum performance temperature

The acrylic adhesive maintains bond strength from -40 °F up to 400 °F, so parts stay secured through paint bake cycles, engine heat or cold-storage transit. No primers or surface activators are required for most common substrates, simplifying the workflow.

Questions about this item

At what temperature does the 468MP adhesive begin to lose its bond under sustained heat?

The tape is rated for continuous performance up to 400 degrees F, beyond which adhesion may degrade.

How much heat does the roll generate during all-day dispensing in a production cell?

The transfer tape itself produces no heat; only the dispensing equipment contributes to ambient temperature.

What surface preparation or primer must the substrate already have for the 6 in wide roll to adhere properly?

Clean, dry substrates free of oil or dust are required; no primer is mandated by the manufacturer for general-purpose bonding.
