24-Pack Hanging File Tabs

These 3M 686A1 tabs attach to hanging folders for quick visual indexing. The pack contains 24 flags split evenly across four colours so teams can code projects by priority, department or status. Post-it adhesive keeps each tab in place while allowing clean repositioning. Suits any office that relies on physical filing systems.

Office-use thermal and noise profile

The tabs are passive paper-and-adhesive items that generate no heat and no audible noise during normal handling. They draw zero power and add negligible mass to a drawer, so they impose no load on climate control or electrical circuits. Performance is limited to the adhesive bond and colour legibility under standard indoor lighting. Buyers needing electronic indexing or automated sorting will find this product does not meet those requirements.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the 3M 686A1 hanging file tabs to my folders, and what step do people often miss?

Slide each tab onto the top rail of a hanging folder until it clicks; the step many miss is aligning the tab's slot with the rail's groove before pressing down.

Will the 24 tabs in this pack need replacement, and how can I tell when it is time?

The tabs are durable for long-term filing; replace individual flags when the plastic becomes brittle, the colour fades, or the clip no longer grips the rail securely.
