Nuclear Grade Duct Tape 8979N

3M 8979N is a red nuclear grade duct tape built for assembly, manufacturing, metalworking and warehouse environments. The polyethylene coated cloth backing and rubber adhesive suit continuous roll use in outdoor conditions. It is supplied new in a 48 mm by 54.8 m roll.

Adhesion and Temperature Limits

Adhesion to steel measures 57 oz per inch and the tape retains performance up to 200 degrees F. The 11.5 mil thickness provides mechanical strength for ducting and repair tasks. Beyond that temperature the adhesive can degrade and holding power drops.

Continuous Roll Format

The single continuous roll eliminates splices and simplifies dispensing on long seams or pipe wraps. No dispenser, cutter or extra adhesive is included in the package. Users needing pre-cut lengths or a hand-held dispenser must source those separately.
