3M 9472LE is a clear adhesive transfer tape supplied in one-inch by sixty-yard hand rolls. Each case contains nine rolls for volume use in assembly, manufacturing, automotive, electronics and general maintenance environments. The tape bonds metal, plastic and other substrates in indoor and outdoor settings. It is designed for production lines and field repairs that require a consistent bond line.

Temperature stability

The tape maintains adhesion across a continuous service range from minus forty degrees Fahrenheit to three hundred degrees Fahrenheit. This width allows the bond to survive thermal cycling in engine compartments, electronic enclosures and outdoor structures without softening or embrittlement. The acrylic adhesive system resists shear creep during sustained high-temperature exposure. Performance remains predictable through repeated heating and cooling cycles.

Five-mil transfer thickness

At five point zero mils the adhesive layer provides a uniform bond line that fills microscopic surface irregularities without excessive squeeze-out. The transfer format leaves no carrier film, so the adhesive contacts both substrates directly. This thickness suits general-purpose joining where gap control and clean processing are required. Thinner or thicker variants would change the bond-line geometry.
