3M 983-71 Reflective School Bus Sign Tape 36 In x 8.75 In

3M 983-71 Reflective Sign Tape

The 3M 983-71 is a premium grade reflective sign tape measuring 36 inches by 8.75 inches. It uses retroreflective microprismatic material with an acrylic adhesive backing for durable outdoor visibility. The yellow and black colour scheme provides high contrast for safety markings. Supplied new in a 37 inch length roll.

Suits fleet and facility marking.

This tape suits fleet operators and facility managers who need long-range reflectivity on buses, vehicles or railings. The microprismatic construction meets demanding outdoor exposure requirements. Buyers needing a basic packaging tape or a non-reflective colour coding tape should look at a different product. The specialised adhesive is engineered for rigid substrates rather than cartons.

Check substrate and surface preparation first

Before ordering, verify the mounting surface is one of the tested substrates such as aluminum, stainless steel, FRP or prepainted panel. Adhesion strength varies from 2.5 lb/in on FRP up to 6.0 lb/in on degreased stainless steel. The 18 mil thickness requires a clean, dry and smooth surface for full contact. Ensure the application environment suits a permanent outdoor installation.
