Reflective tape for outdoor marking

3M 983-71 is a yellow retroreflective tape built for outdoor visibility. The microprismatic backing returns light to its source across a 30 ft roll. Acrylic adhesive bonds to metal, painted panels and FRP surfaces. The product is new and supplied in a single roll.

Two-inch width fits standard channels

At 2 in wide the tape suits common rail and post profiles without trimming. The 18 mil thickness adds durability while remaining flexible for curved mounts. Acrylic adhesive resists moisture and temperature cycling once applied to a clean substrate. No additional fasteners or primers are required for listed surfaces.

Adhesion data guides surface prep

Published peel values range from 2.5 lb/in on FRP to 6.0 lb/in on stainless steel, with intermediate figures for Tedlar, prepainted panel, aluminum rail and degreased aluminum. These numbers let installers match the tape to the substrate and plan cleaning steps. No software or extra accessories are bundled with the roll.
