3M Hand Rivet Nut Setter Kit D-04

This 3M kit provides a hand-operated rivet nut setter in a single pack. It is intended for maintenance tasks that require installing threaded inserts into thin materials. The compact container measures 7.7 cm by 13 cm by 40.4 cm and weighs very little for easy storage. Suitable for workshops or field repairs where portable fastening tools are needed.

Compatibility check before ordering

Verify that the rivet nut sizes you plan to install match the tool's capacity. The kit includes one setter body and mandrels for specific thread sizes; confirm your fastener specifications against the included components. No power source or air supply is required, so only hand strength and workspace access are necessary. Ensure the workpiece thickness suits the rivet nut grip range.

Upgrade considerations

This set replaces improvised methods such as using bolts and nuts to pull inserts manually. The dedicated tool delivers consistent pull force and reduces installation time compared to makeshift approaches. The jump is worth it when you install rivet nuts regularly and need repeatable results without damaging threads. It does not suit high-volume production where pneumatic or hydraulic tools are justified.
