What it does and who uses it

The 3M LS960 laminates documents up to 8-1/2 inches wide and 1/10 inch thick without electricity or heat. It suits offices, schools and home users who need quick, fume-free protection for inkjet prints, thermal paper or other heat-sensitive materials. No warm-up time means the machine is ready whenever a document needs preserving.

Practical limits of the heat-free process

The cold-roller system accepts items up to 90 feet long in a single run, but cannot exceed the stated width or thickness. Cartridge refills come in 9.00, 12.00 and 25.00 inch widths, so the roll must match the job. Users who need wider formats, thicker substrates or heated encapsulation will find this unit unsuitable.

The spec that decides fit

Maximum document thickness is 1/10 inch; anything thicker will not feed through the rollers. If your workflow regularly includes mounted boards, fabric or multi-page bundles beyond that limit, a different laminator is required.

Questions about this item

Which laminating width should I choose — 9.00", 12.00" or 25.00"?

The machine accepts documents up to 8-1/2" wide, so the 9.00" roll is the correct match; wider rolls are for other models.

What does the 90.00 ft roll length mean for daily use?

One cartridge can laminate up to 90.00 ft of material before it needs replacing.

How does the heat-free, electricity-free design affect lamination speed?

There is no warm-up; you simply feed the document through the rollers in three steps.
