4/0 AWG Copper Compression Lug

The 3M MC4/0-12RX is a one-hole lug compression connector built for 4/0 AWG copper cable. It carries CSA certification and UL listing for code-compliant installations. Each pack contains sixty connectors for project-scale work.

Sustained Current Performance

Copper construction with tin plating provides low resistance across the joint under continuous load. The short barrel and die code 15 ensure a consistent crimp that resists loosening from thermal cycling. No peep hole means the barrel stays sealed against moisture ingress.

Ring Tongue and Stud Fit

The ring tongue accepts a 1/2 inch stud for secure bolt-down mounting in panels or bus bars. Overall length measures 2.35 inches with a 1.0 inch pad width for tight spacing. Purple colour code identifies the correct die without guesswork.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the tin-plated copper lug generate when carrying 4/0 AWG current all day?

The tin-plated copper construction and short barrel design provide low resistance for 4/0 AWG conductors, minimizing heat buildup during continuous operation.

What crimping die and tool must I already own to install these 60 connectors?

A die code 15 compression tool is required to crimp each lug onto 4/0 AWG cable, and the purple color code helps verify the correct die selection.

Will the 1/2 in stud size on these lugs match the terminal bolts on my existing bus bars?

Each lug has a 1/2 in stud hole and 1.0 in tongue width, so it fits standard 1/2 in bolts used on many bus bars and distribution blocks.
