Natural loofah sponges for zero-waste kitchens

These 3M sponges are made from 100 per cent biodegradable loofah plant fibres. They suit households that want a plastic-free alternative for daily dishwashing. Each pack contains six compressed sponges that expand when wet.

Replaces synthetic scourers that shed microplastics

The jump is worth it when you want to avoid microplastic residue on cookware and worktops. One sponge lasts four to six weeks, so the pack covers up to nine months of use. They arrive thin and compressed to save storage space.

Six-pack capacity handles everyday pots and pans

The loofah fibres foam well, letting you use less washing-up liquid while removing grease. They are soft enough for non-stick surfaces but run out of abrasion on heavy baked-on carbon. Not for buyers who need a dedicated heavy-duty scrubber.

Questions about this item

How much shelf space does the 1.6 cm x 13.9 cm x 26.6 cm pack require?

The compressed pack measures 1.6 cm thick, 13.9 cm wide and 26.6 cm long, so it fits in a narrow cupboard or drawer.

What is the correct way to activate the compressed loofah sponges before first use?

Soak each dry sponge in water until it fully expands to its natural loofah shape; using it while still flat gives poor scrubbing.

When should I replace a sponge from this 6-count pack?

Each sponge lasts four to six weeks; replace it once it starts to break down or retains odours.
