Clear permanent acrylic transfer tape bonds paper, card, fabric, foil, plastic and foam, resists UV and solvents, and operates from -60 °F to 250 °F
Scotch ATG Tape 987 is a permanent unsupported acrylic adhesive transfer film on a tartan liner. It is designed for general-purpose bonding of lighter materials such as paper, card stock, fabrics, foils, plastics and foam board. The tape works with a Scotch ATG applicator for quick application. It suits crafters, framers and light assembly tasks needing a clean, permanent bond.
The adhesive system operates consistently from -60°F (-51°C) to 250°F (121°C). It provides good UV resistance and good solvent resistance for lasting bonds in varied environments. High initial adhesion combines with strong holding power across this temperature span. The formulation is engineered for reliable performance in both cold and hot conditions.
The roll is reverse wound on a unique 1-inch core made for Scotch ATG applicators. This mounting style enables fast, liner-free dispensing during repetitive tasks. The 36-yard length supports extended use before roll changes. Users without a compatible ATG applicator cannot apply this tape as intended.

The roll is reverse-wound on a one-inch core. Feed the liner so it peels from the bottom of the roll and threads through the applicator's guide slot; pulling from the top causes the liner to snag and tear.
The 3M Adhesive 400 formulation remains stable from minus 60°F to 250°F and resists UV and solvents, so the tape does not dry out; only the liner is consumed during application.
The adhesive is rated to 250°F (121°C); sustained heat above that limit softens the acrylic and reduces holding power before UV degradation becomes an issue.
