Clear Mounting Tape for Invisible Fixing

3M Scotch-Mount Clear Double-Sided Mounting Tape uses closed-cell acrylic foam with a modified acrylic adhesive to create a virtually invisible bond. The tape holds up to 15 pounds and suits glass, tiles, acrylic organisers and translucent frames. Each pack supplies 48 pre-cut squares for quick, nail-free installation. The clear carrier keeps the adhesive hidden on transparent surfaces.

Ideal for Permanent Transparent Bonds

This tape suits anyone needing a strong, permanent hold on smooth, non-porous materials such as glass or tile where the adhesive must stay out of sight. It is not for buyers who want removable or repositionable fixing, nor for those mounting heavy loads beyond the rated capacity. Rough, porous or flexible substrates will not achieve the stated bond strength.

Check Surface and Temperature Before Use

Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, smooth and free of dust or oils so the modified acrylic adhesive can wet out fully. The recommended application range is 50F to 100F, so avoid installing in colder or hotter conditions. Test on an inconspicuous area first if clean removal from a specific substrate might be required later.

Questions about this item

What surface temperature range is needed for the tape to bond properly?

Apply the tape when the surface temperature is between 50F and 100F for proper adhesion.

Will the clear foam carrier remain invisible when mounting a glass shelf?

The closed-cell acrylic foam is virtually clear so it stays undetectable behind transparent materials like glass.

How can I confirm the tape is holding the rated load after installation?

The tape is rated to hold up to 15 pounds; verify by checking that the mounted item remains secure under that weight.
