Professional floor preparation pads

The 3M Scotch-Brite SPP17 pads come in a carton of 10 and are designed for janitorial teams and facility managers who need to strip top coats before recoating hard floors. Each maroon pad delivers heavy-duty scrubbing action that leaves surfaces clean and ready for new finish applications.

Verify equipment compatibility first

Confirm that your floor machine accepts 17 inch diameter pads and that the drive system can handle the aggressive abrasive material used for finish removal. The pads are non-powered accessories, so they rely entirely on the host machine’s speed and pressure for effective performance.

Sustained stripping without chemical strippers

Under continuous operation the abrasive construction maintains consistent cutting action to remove floor finish across wood, vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, marble, terrazzo and concrete. The design helps eliminate the need for chemical strippers while keeping the surface preparation rate steady throughout the job.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and is anything else needed to start using the pads?

The carton contains ten maroon 17-inch surface preparation pads. A compatible floor machine with a 17-inch drive pad is required and is not included.

The listing shows only one version — how do I know this is the right pad for my floor type?

These pads are designed for wood, vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, marble, terrazzo and concrete floors where the top coat must be removed before recoating.

What does the 17-inch size mean once the pad is on a machine?

The 17-inch diameter matches the drive plate on standard 17-inch floor machines so the pad covers the full working width in one pass.
