3M STC151 Static Shield Bags

These transparent open-end bags protect static-sensitive components during storage and shipping. The 8 by 16 inch dimensions fit circuit boards, drives and other electronics. Each pack contains one hundred bags for bulk handling. They serve technicians, assemblers and mailrooms that need reliable ESD packaging.

Replaces loose anti-static wraps

The open-end design allows quick insertion without sealing equipment, speeding up packing lines compared with heat-seal alternatives. A jump to this format is worth it when volume packing outpaces manual taping or when consistent Faraday-cage protection is required. The two-hundred count reference indicates a larger bulk option exists for higher throughput.

Sustained handling in transit

Bags maintain shielding effectiveness across repeated handling cycles in courier networks. Transparent walls let inspectors verify contents without opening the package, reducing exposure events. The construction resists tearing during automated sorting and stacked pallet loads.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the 3M STC151 bags so I know what fits inside?

Each bag measures 8 inches by 16 inches, providing space for items up to that width and length.

How do I seal the open end of these static shield bags properly?

Fold the top edge over once and secure it with an ESD-safe label or tape; skipping the fold leaves a gap that compromises the shield.

When should I replace a bag from the 100-pack to maintain ESD protection?

Replace a bag if the metalised layer shows creases, punctures, or heavy scratches, as damage reduces the Faraday-cage effect.
