4XEM Cat 6 Riser Bulk Cable Blue

This 1000 ft Cat 6 riser-rated cable comes in a 305 m bulk reel for structured wiring projects. The 24 AWG solid copper conductors use an unshielded twisted-pair design suitable for permanent installation in vertical shafts. It meets CMR fire-safety requirements for commercial and residential runs.

CMR rating and solid-core construction

The CMR rating allows the cable to pass between floors without conduit in most building codes. Solid-core conductors keep signal integrity over long horizontal or vertical distances but are not suited for repeated flexing or patch-cord use. Buyers who need flexible stranded conductors for patch panels or short jumpers should choose a different cable type.

Questions about this item

What does the 24 AWG solid-core construction mean when the cable is pulled through walls and terminated?

The 24 AWG solid copper conductors keep the cable rigid enough for long pulls and punch-down terminations while meeting Cat 6 performance requirements.

How does the CMR riser rating limit where this 1000 ft reel can be installed?

CMR rating allows vertical runs between floors in non-plenum spaces, but the cable cannot be used in air-handling plenums without a higher-rated jacket.
