Metal Repair Epoxy Putty

ABATRON MetalFix P is a two-part epoxy putty designed for permanent metal repairs on automotive, marine and industrial components. The grey putty bonds to steel, aluminium, cast iron and other ferrous or non-ferrous metals without welding or brazing equipment. It suits maintenance technicians, fabricators and DIY restorers who need structural filler that machines like metal.

Temperature and Working Limits

The product reaches full cure in two days and remains serviceable between 50 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Working time after mixing is one hour, giving enough window to shape and tool the repair before it hardens. Flash point is 245 degrees Fahrenheit, so the cured putty withstands normal engine-bay heat but is not rated for direct exhaust or turbo temperatures.

Capacity and Repair Scope

The 16 ounce pail provides enough material for multiple medium-sized cracks, stripped threads, corroded housings or worn keyways. It handles vibration, shock and moderate mechanical load once cured, and can be drilled, tapped, filed or painted. Very large voids or repairs exceeding the temperature envelope will require a different system.
