Solid brass padlock for outdoor security

This Abus padlock uses a solid brass body that resists corrosion in harsh weather. A hardened steel shackle protects against cutting and sawing attempts. The precision pin tumbler cylinder provides reliable keyed operation. It is built for commercial and residential outdoor use.

Suited for gates, sheds

The different-keyed design means each lock opens only with its own key, so it fits situations where unique access is required. Buyers who want multiple locks opened by a single key should look at keyed-alike options instead. The 2-1/2 inch shackle height limits use on thicker hasps or chains.

Simple installation with existing hasp or chain

Slide the hardened steel shackle through the mounting point and snap the lock body shut to engage the cylinder. No tools are required for fitting. The main issue arises when the shackle clearance is too short for the hardware, preventing the lock from closing fully.

Questions about this item

What size hasp or chain link will fit the 2-1/2" shackle height on this brass padlock?

The 2-1/2 inch shackle height clears standard hasps and chain links up to that internal clearance, allowing the hardened steel shackle to pass through before locking.

Will the solid brass body of this padlock react with the steel hinges on an older garden gate?

The solid brass body resists corrosion and does not react with steel hinges, while the hardened steel shackle provides cut resistance alongside existing iron hardware.

How can I confirm the precision pin tumbler cylinder is operating smoothly after installation?

Insert the key and turn; the cylinder should rotate freely without binding, the shackle should release cleanly, and the key should withdraw only in the locked position.
