Chrome OS laptop for students and casual use

This 15.6 inch Full HD laptop runs Chrome OS on an Intel Celeron N4500 dual core processor with 4GB of soldered DDR4 memory and 64GB of eMMC storage. It is aimed at students and casual users who need a simple device for web browsing, document editing and media streaming. The narrow bezel display offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution for clear visuals. Acer quotes up to 10 hours of battery life for all day productivity.

Suited to light web tasks.

Buyers who want a lightweight machine for email, video calls and cloud based classroom tools will find the specification adequate. The low power LPDDR4x memory helps extend battery runtime during mobile use. Users who need more storage for large media libraries, who rely on Windows or macOS applications, or who require higher performance for video editing and gaming should look at something else. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles basic video playback only.

Soldered 4GB DDR4 memory cannot be upgraded

The single most decisive specification is the 4GB of DDR4 memory soldered directly to the board with a maximum supported capacity of 4GB. This hard limit prevents any future RAM upgrade and restricts the number of browser tabs and Android apps that can run smoothly at the same time. If your workflow demands more memory headroom, this chassis will not accommodate it.
