15.6 inch QHD 240Hz gaming laptop

The Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-55-795C-HID4 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop with a QHD 240Hz IPS display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-12700H 14 core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics with 8GB GDDR6. The system includes 16GB DDR5 4800MHz memory and 8TB NVMe SSD storage. Windows 11 Home comes pre-installed.

Upgrades from 1080p 144Hz panels and smaller SSDs

Moving from a 1080p 144Hz screen to the 2560 x 1440 240Hz panel gives sharper motion clarity for competitive titles. The jump to 8TB NVMe storage removes the need for external drives when storing large game libraries. The 14 core CPU and RTX 3070 Ti combination handles modern titles at high settings. The upgrade is worth it when both display responsiveness and local capacity matter.

Straightforward memory and storage access

The chassis allows access to two M.2 slots and two SO-DIMM slots after removing the bottom cover. Factory installed dual channel DDR5 and dual NVMe drives leave no empty slots for simple expansion. Thermal paste upgrades applied during customisation require careful re-assembly to maintain contact pressure. Most issues arise from stripped case screws or disconnected battery cables during reassembly.

Questions about this item

Will the 15.6 inch 2560 x 1440 240Hz panel fit in a standard 15 inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 14.10 by 10.90 by 0.98 to 1.02 inches so a sleeve sized for a typical 15 inch notebook will accommodate it.

Can the 16 GB of DDR5 4800MHz memory be expanded later?

The system ships with two 8 GB modules filling both SO-DIMM slots so adding more RAM requires replacing the existing sticks.

Does the 8 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD leave a free M.2 slot for another drive?

The 8 TB capacity is provided by two 4 TB drives occupying both M.2 slots so no spare slot remains unless one drive is removed.
