Compact Chrome desktop for cloud-first work

The Acer CXI6-C58G is a small-form-factor desktop running Chrome OS on an Intel Core 5 120U processor at 1.4 GHz. It targets offices, schools and kiosk deployments that rely on web apps and managed cloud services rather than local software installs.

Integrated connectivity replaces separate adapters

Built-in Wi-Fi 6E and Gigabit Ethernet give reliable wireless and wired access without extra dongles. The 90 W power supply runs the complete unit, so there is no external brick to route or hide.

8 GB DDR4 and 256 GB SSD handle typical browser

Eight gigabytes of DDR4 3200 memory keeps dozens of tabs and Android apps responsive, while the 256 GB solid-state drive stores local caches and offline files. Heavy multitasking with large media projects or virtual machines will exceed the available RAM and storage headroom.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB DDR4 3200 memory need to be replaced for heavier workloads?

The system ships with 8 GB of DDR4 3200 soldered memory, so capacity cannot be increased later.

Which limit appears first during sustained use, the 90 W power adapter or thermal headroom?

The 90 W adapter caps total system draw, so power delivery becomes the limiting factor before thermal throttling.

How loud does the fan get when the Chromebox runs all day on Chrome OS?

The compact chassis uses a small internal fan that stays quiet under typical Chrome OS loads but spins up noticeably during prolonged high-CPU tasks.
