Five-speaker home-theatre set

The Acoustic Audio AA40CB is a passive five-speaker bookshelf system finished in black. It is intended for indoor home-theatre surround sound, whole-house audio or commercial installations where an external amplifier or receiver is already available.

250-watt-per-channel power handling

Each speaker accepts a minimum of 20 watts and a maximum of 250 watts per channel from the connected amplifier. Supplying power outside this range risks damage or insufficient output, so the amp must match these limits exactly.

Sustained output with sealed cabinets

The sealed ABS enclosures and 94 dB sensitivity at 8 ohms deliver consistent output during extended listening sessions. Frequency response from 94 Hz to 20 kHz is maintained without the compression that ported designs can exhibit under continuous drive.

Questions about this item

How loud can 2500 watts actually get in a typical living room?

The 2500-watt figure is the total peak power handling for all five speakers combined; each speaker handles 20 to 250 watts per channel, so real-world volume depends on your amplifier's actual output, not the peak rating.

What does the 8-ohm, 94 dB specification mean for my receiver?

At 8 ohms and 94 dB sensitivity, the speakers present an easy load for most home receivers and will play loudly with modest amplifier power, but the raw-wire spring terminals accept only bare wire, not banana plugs.

How much shelf depth do the 5.75 by 15.625 by 5.75 inch cabinets need?

Each bookshelf cabinet measures 5.75 inches deep, so a shelf at least 6 inches deep provides a secure fit with a small margin for the rear spring connectors.
