12-Pack In-Ceiling Speaker System

The Acoustic Audio CS-IC63-6PR delivers a 12-speaker set designed for whole-home audio or large home-theater installations. Each unit is a passive 3-way design with a 6.5-inch poly cone woofer, poly-mica midrange and 13mm soft dome tweeter. The flush-mount housings use a Pressure Lock Mounting System that clamps to drywall without extra hardware. They suit installers who need consistent coverage across many rooms.

Pressure Lock Mounting and Paintable Grilles

The Pressure Lock Mounting System secures each speaker into a 7.87-inch cutout with a 3.43-inch mounting depth, eliminating separate brackets or screws. Removable ABS grilles can be painted to match any ceiling finish, keeping the installation visually discreet. Spring-loaded raw-wire terminals accept CL3-rated speaker cable directly from an amplifier. These features reduce on-site labour and simplify final trim work.

Ideal for Multi-Zone Systems, Not Small Stereo Pairs

This 12-pack suits builders or integrators wiring distributed audio across multiple zones where uniform dispersion and paintable grilles matter. Buyers needing only a stereo pair or a single surround set should consider smaller packs, as the quantity and 3-way driver count exceed typical two-channel requirements. The passive design also requires an external amplifier with 10 to 300 watts per channel, so systems without a suitable receiver are not compatible.

Questions about this item

Will the 6.5" poly cone woofers with butyl rubber surrounds need replacement after years of use?

The butyl rubber surrounds resist drying and cracking longer than foam, so the woofers typically last the life of the speaker without maintenance.

What limits output first when the speakers run at high volume for long periods?

The 300-watt per channel power ceiling and the passive crossover network will reach thermal limits before the drivers themselves.

How much heat or noise do the 12 speakers produce when driven all day from a receiver?

Passive speakers generate no fan noise; heat stays in the crossover and voice coils and is dissipated through the ABS housing into the ceiling cavity.
