8MP Deep Learning AI bullet camera

The ACTi Z318 is an 8 megapixel fixed bullet network camera designed for outdoor surveillance. It uses a 2.8mm lens and a CMOS sensor to capture video at up to 3872 x 2192 resolution. The camera supports H.265 and H.264 adaptive streaming plus MJPEG compression for efficient bandwidth use. It is suited for installers needing AI-driven event detection and wide dynamic range in a PoE-powered housing.

IP67 weatherproof with 6.9 W PoE draw

The bullet housing meets IP67 weatherproof rating and is UL Listed for outdoor mounting. Power is delivered via a single 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port using Power over Ethernet, consuming 6.9 W. Built-in IR LEDs provide night vision up to 50 m while the extreme WDR of 130 dB handles high-contrast scenes. A built-in microphone supports one-way audio with G.711 compression for sound detection events.

20 fps at 3840 x 2160 sustained streaming

The camera maintains 20 frames per second at 3840 x 2160 resolution and 30 fps at 3072 x 1728 or lower resolutions during continuous operation. Simultaneous dual streams allow recording and live viewing at different quality levels. Smart motion, sound and tampering detection trigger e-mail snapshots or FTP uploads without external servers. 2D and 3D digital noise reduction keeps image clarity stable during long recording periods.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the Z318 bullet camera on an outdoor wall and aim the fixed 2.8mm lens?

Use the supplied bracket to fix the base to the wall, then loosen the pan, tilt and rotation joints to point the lens. The step most people miss is tightening all three locking screws after aiming so wind cannot shift the 0-360° pan, 0-90° tilt or 0-360° rotation positions.

What maintenance will the IR LEDs and IP67 seals need after a year outside?

Clean the front glass and IR window with a soft cloth and mild detergent every six months to keep the 50 m night range clear. Inspect the cable gland and housing gaskets annually; replace any cracked seals to maintain the IP67 rating.

At what ambient temperature does the 6.9 W PoE budget become the limiting factor for continuous 20 fps 3840x2160 recording?

The camera draws a constant 6.9 W via PoE. In high ambient heat the internal temperature rises until the thermal protection throttles the sensor, dropping the frame rate below the 20 fps maximum at 3840x2160.
