Outdoor window thermometer

The AcuRite 00799 is a digital thermometer designed for outdoor temperature reading through a window. It suits homeowners who want a quick glance at conditions without stepping outside. The unit includes a weather-proof metallic mount with a rubber seal over the on/off switch. A repositionable suction cup allows easy placement on glass or smooth surfaces.

Temperature range and display limits

Readings are shown in 3/4-inch-high numerals on an LCD screen covering -4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. The range caps at 158 degrees Fahrenheit, so it cannot report higher temperatures found on sun-baked metal or near heat sources. The display shows only Fahrenheit units with no Celsius option mentioned. Battery is included for immediate operation.

Mounting surface and environment check

Verify that the intended window or surface is clean, smooth and non-porous so the suction cup adheres reliably. Ensure the mounting spot stays within the stated temperature limits and is not exposed to direct flame or extreme radiant heat. The weather-resistant build handles rain and humidity but the seal over the switch must remain intact for continued protection.
