Feather M0 development board with ATSAMD21 Cortex M0 processor, 256K flash, 32K RAM, built-in USB programming, 3.7V LiPo battery connector with charging, and prototyping area
The Adafruit Feather M0 Basic Proto is a compact microcontroller board built around the ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex M0 processor. It provides 256K of flash memory and 32K of RAM for code and data storage. Integrated USB circuitry handles programming and debugging without an external FTDI-type adapter. A 3.7V lithium-polymer battery connector with onboard charging supports portable operation.
Engineers and hobbyists creating portable sensor nodes, wearables or data loggers will benefit from the built-in battery management and generous memory. The board includes a 32.768 KHz crystal for accurate timekeeping and a 3.3V regulator rated for 500mA peak current. Designs that require onboard EEPROM for non-volatile configuration storage should consider alternative hardware.
The processor choice defines the development workflow: code compiles for the ARM Cortex M0 architecture and uploads over the native USB port. With 256K of flash and 32K of RAM, the device sits well above classic 8-bit boards in capacity while retaining the Feather form factor. The 3.3V logic level and 500mA regulator peak set the boundaries for peripheral interfacing.

The board is fully assembled and tested; when plugged into USB the on-board LED lights and the USB-to-Serial interface enumerates, showing the 3.3 V regulator is supplying up to 500 mA peak current.
The development board itself is included fully assembled; a 3.7 V lithium polymer battery and a micro USB cable are not supplied and must be purchased separately for portable or rechargeable operation.
This model provides 256 K of flash and 32 K of RAM with the ATSAMD21G18 processor; no alternative capacities are offered for this board.
