Threadripper 9960X workstation overview

This Adamant Custom desktop pairs a 24-core AMD Threadripper 9960X processor with 512GB of DDR5 ECC memory and a liquid-cooled 360mm AIO. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and is built inside a Corsair 5000D Frame case powered by a 1600W 80+ Titanium Seasonic PSU.

Ideal workloads and limits

The configuration suits professionals who need high core counts and large memory capacity for rendering, simulation or AI-ready tasks supported by an RTX 5090 32GB GPU. Buyers who want more storage bays than the four 3.5-inch and four 2.5-inch internal slots provide should look at something else.

Compatibility checklist

Verify that your peripherals can use the rear USB4 Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 ports plus the front USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 Type-C connections. Confirm the dual LAN ports meet your networking needs and that the Realtek ALC4080 and ALC897 audio codecs cover your output requirements.

Questions about this item

What power supply capacity is required for the 1600W PSU and RTX 5090 combination?

The workstation includes a Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 1600W 80+ Titanium PSU with a 140mm ultra-quiet fan, delivering ample headroom for the RTX 5090 32GB GPU and 24-core Threadripper 9960X CPU under full load.

Will my existing SATA III 3.5-inch drives work with the motherboard's eight SATA 6Gb/s ports?

Yes, the GIGABYTE TRX50 AERO D motherboard provides eight SATA 6Gb/s connectors compatible with your current SATA III hard drives or SSDs, and the Corsair 5000D case offers two internal 3.5-inch bays for installation.

How can I verify the DDR5 ECC memory is running at the correct 512GB capacity after setup?

Open Windows 11 Pro Task Manager or System Information; the installed memory should show 512GB DDR5 ECC across the populated slots on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard, confirming full capacity recognition.
