24-Core Threadripper PRO Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 24-core AMD Threadripper PRO 9965WX processor with 64GB of DDR5 ECC memory. It targets professionals running multi-threaded workloads such as simulation, rendering and large-scale data analysis. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and a 1200W 80 PLUS Gold power supply.

PCIe 4.0 NVMe and SATA III storage limits

Three Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver up to 10TB of NVMe capacity over PCIe 4.0 x4 lanes, reaching 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write. A 10TB SATA III hard drive adds bulk capacity at lower throughput. Total M.2 slots on the board are four, so one remains open for future expansion.

Upgrade from dual-socket or older HEDT builds

The single-socket design replaces dual-processor configurations that needed more power and cooling for similar thread counts. Builders moving from earlier Threadripper generations gain higher boost clocks up to 5.3 GHz and 128MB L3 cache. Teams needing more than 64GB ECC memory or additional GPUs should plan around the four-channel memory limit and available PCIe lanes.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2TB or 4TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO for my OS drive?

The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO is designated as the first M.2 SSD and delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write, making it the fastest boot volume in the configuration.

What does the 24-core Threadripper PRO 9965WX at 4.2 GHz actually deliver inside this chassis?

The processor runs 24 cores and 48 threads with a 5.3 GHz boost and 128 MB L3 cache, cooled by a 360 mm liquid cooler so sustained multi-thread workloads stay at high frequencies.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 link on the M.2 slots limit the Samsung 990 PRO drives?

Each 990 PRO is wired PCIe 4.0 x4, capping sequential throughput at the rated 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write regardless of the drive's higher ceiling.
