24-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 24-core AMD Threadripper 9960X running at 4.2 GHz with 128 GB of DDR5 ECC memory. A 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold supply powers the system, while a 360 mm AIO cooler keeps the CPU quiet under load. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on a 2 TB NVMe boot drive.

Suits multi-threaded compute.

The 24 cores and 48 threads excel at rendering, simulation and large dataset work that scales across many threads. ECC memory adds reliability for long-running jobs. The Nvidia RTX PRO 2000 16 GB card is sized for professional display output and light GPU acceleration, not for heavy compute or real-time ray tracing workloads.

10 TB NVMe plus 10 TB HDD storage

Three Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver 2 TB, 4 TB and 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe capacity with sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s. A 10 TB SATA III hard drive with 256 MB cache adds bulk archival space. Builders who need more NVMe lanes or a second high-end GPU should look at a platform with additional PCIe slots.

Questions about this item

What case clearance does the 360 mm liquid cooler need in the Corsair 5000D Frame?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO mounts in the Corsair 5000D Frame which measures 520 mm deep, 245 mm wide and 520 mm high.

How is the Threadripper 9960X seated in the sTR5 socket on the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D, and what step is often missed?

Align the triangle on the 24-core CPU with the socket marker, lower the retention frame evenly, then torque the captive screws in a cross pattern — skipping the cross pattern causes uneven contact.

When will the 10 TB SATA III hard drive likely need replacement under heavy workloads?

The 10 TB drive with 256 MB cache spins continuously; plan replacement after three to five years of sustained write loads or when SMART reallocated sectors appear.
