Threadripper 9970X workstation build

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 32-core AMD Threadripper 9970X with 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX PRO 4500 GPU carrying 32GB of video memory. Storage combines three NVMe drives totalling 10TB with a 10TB SATA hard drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Sustained multi-core throughput

The 360mm liquid cooler and 1200W Gold-rated power supply are designed to keep the 32-core processor near its 5.4GHz boost during extended rendering or simulation jobs. Three Samsung 990 PRO SSDs deliver sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s without throttling. Dual LAN ports maintain network connectivity under heavy dataset transfers.

Compatibility checklist

Verify that your peripherals and external storage can use the rear USB4 Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 ports provided by the TRX50 AERO motherboard. Internal expansion relies on four M.2 slots and eight SATA 6Gb/s connectors — confirm any additional drives match these interfaces. The Corsair 5000D frame measures 520mm deep, 245mm wide and 520mm high; ensure your rack or desk space accommodates these dimensions.

Questions about this item

How loud does the 360mm liquid cooler and 140mm PSU fan run when the 32-core Threadripper 9970X sustains load all day?

The 360mm Quiet Edition AIO and the Thermaltake 1200W unit's 140mm fan are both specified for low noise, keeping acoustics down during extended full-load sessions.

What display cables must I already own to use the RTX PRO 4500 32GB graphics card?

The card uses standard DisplayPort and HDMI outputs; have the matching cables for your monitors ready before the workstation arrives.

Can I keep my existing SATA III hard drives and plug them into the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard?

Yes, the board provides eight SATA 6Gb/s ports, so current SATA III drives connect directly without adapters.
