64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX 4000 Blackwell 24GB GPU. It targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded compute and certified graphics drivers for simulation, rendering or AI workloads.

Customised Cooling And Storage Layout

A 360mm quiet-edition liquid cooler handles the CPU thermal load while a 1TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive provides boot and scratch space. The 10TB SATA hard drive adds bulk capacity for project archives without occupying additional M.2 slots on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard.

TRX50 Platform And Power Constraints

The sTR5 platform delivers 128 PCIe lanes and eight SATA 6Gb/s ports, but the four M.2 connectors share bandwidth with other peripherals. The 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU caps total system draw, so adding further high-power accelerators would require a supply upgrade.

Questions about this item

How often should the liquid cooler on this Threadripper 9980X workstation be checked or replaced?

The 360 mm quiet-edition AIO is a sealed unit with no user-serviceable parts; routine maintenance is limited to keeping the case intake and exhaust filters clean so airflow over the radiator stays unobstructed.

What component hits its limit first when all 64 cores run at 5.4 GHz for extended periods?

The 1200 W 80 Plus Gold PSU and the 360 mm liquid cooler are sized for the Threadripper 9980X and RTX 4000 24 GB under full load, so the CPU thermal ceiling is the first boundary reached under sustained 5.4 GHz operation.

How loud and hot does the system get when rendering overnight with the RTX 4000 24 GB at 100 %?

The 360 mm quiet-edition liquid cooler and the PSU's 140 mm low-noise fan keep acoustics low, while the Corsair 5000D case with front and rear 120 mm fans exhausts heat from the 64-core CPU and 24 GB GPU during continuous workloads.
