64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X with 256GB DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX 2000 16GB GPU. It targets professionals running multi-threaded simulations, large-model training or complex rendering pipelines that demand high core counts and error-correcting RAM.

Installation Notes

The Corsair 5000D Frame case arrives fully assembled with a 360 mm AIO cooler, 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU and three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives pre-installed. Builders should verify that the 520 mm depth clears their desk or rack space before unpacking, as the chassis cannot be downsized.

Interface Limits

The TRX50 motherboard provides PCIe 4.0 x4 wiring to each M.2 slot, capping sequential throughput at the 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write rates of the fitted Samsung drives. The 10 TB SATA HDD is restricted to the SATA III bus, so sustained transfers will remain well below the NVMe ceiling.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 64-core Threadripper 9980X is reaching its 5.4 GHz boost under load?

Open Task Manager or HWMonitor while running a heavy render or compile job and watch the core frequency column climb toward 5.4 GHz; the 360 mm liquid cooler should keep temperatures low enough for sustained boost.

Which drives and accessories are included versus what I must add?

The workstation ships with a 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO, two 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSDs, a 10 TB SATA HDD, Corsair 5000D case, 1200 W PSU, 360 mm AIO cooler, Windows 11 Pro and all cables; only peripherals and extra drives are optional.

Should I choose the 2 TB or 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO for the primary OS drive?

The 2 TB 990 PRO is already designated as the first M.2 slot for OS and applications, while the two 4 TB 990 PRO units occupy the second and third slots for project storage; all three deliver 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write.
